The snowflakes fall down and transform the landscape around the Castel into a white magic winter fairy tale. The winter sport enthusiasts will find here change for a magnificent energy holiday in the crystal clear fresh winter air.

Not far from Castelrotto two of the most popular winter sport areas may be experienced: the Val Gardena with its steep ski slopes and the Alpe di Siusi offering also possibilities for tranquil winter tourism.

An extended net of cross-country ski runs (60 km) and sunny winter walks (30 km) surrounded by bizarre Dolomite rocks may offer an unforgettable experience close to nature. Equally possibilities are offered for the daredevils and wild young skiers and snowboarders (60 km of ski runs).

The 26 ultra-modern ascent installations and well prepared ski slopes with every degree of difficulty lead you over the entire high alpine pasture.

Who likes toboggan may choose every day another one of the 8 natural toboggan runs of the Alpe di Siusi. Of course, toboggans can be rent and the use of the runs is free.

Breathing adventure air and live intensively the untouched „wild“ winter landscape – this is the perspective during snow shoe hikes. There is no previous knowledge for stepping into the snow. With simple equipment you may advance in wonderful places, otherwise closed for you. The culmination of all ski tours is the ski slope of the Sasso Piatto, a loved goal of the ski tours enthusiasts of every country. After a two hours summit climb an adventurous descent in the deep fresh snow will follow.
